Kannawidan Ylocos Festival: The Heart of the Ilocano People

    The Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is an event commemorates the establishment of the province of Ilocos Sur. It is a month-long festival that begins the last week of January and finishes the first week of February.

 

    It is the Ilocanos' way of thanking the Almighty for not only the many benefits, but also for the province's rich tradition, which includes deep family relationships among the Ilocanos. This celebration features cultural performances, religious rites, and cookery demonstrations showcasing the best of Ilocano cuisine.

 

    Kannawidan is significant for every Ilocano to remember where we came from, our culture, our history and our tradition. Through this, it will help us include our culture in our everyday lives.
